This set up
two good semi finals. In the first U15 Allan Brooks batting first set up a good
total of 24 against Andy Barnes but
Brooks could not contain the hard hitting Barnes who made it through to the
final. In the other semi final Ash Spencer
set a stiff target of 29 for Shaun Blanks and then managed to dismiss Blanks
twice which meant that with 10 runs deducted, the total was too much to reach
and Spencer made it through to the final.
Ash Spencer batted first
in the final and again set a challenging total but Andy Barnes played some good shots and Spencer’s only
hope was to dismiss him to take 5 runs off the total. Barnes managed to hold on
to his wicket and passed the total with 2 balls to spare to deservedly win the
trophy which was presented by Barbara Blakstad.
